HCL Connections: Social Software for Business Networking
HCL Connections (formally IBM Connections) is a social software designed to enhance business networking and collaboration. With this mobile app, employees can access their company's Connections server directly from their iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, allowing them to stay connected and productive even while on the go.
The app offers a range of features to facilitate communication and collaboration within the organization. Users can securely share documents, presentations, and photos with their colleagues using the Files feature. They can also build a social network within the company, connecting with experts and colleagues through Profiles. Collaborative work can be done through Communities, where users can join forces with others to accomplish business goals. Blogs and Wikis provide a platform for sharing expertise and influencing others. Bookmarks allow users to keep everyone on the same page, while Activities help track project progress.
In addition to these features, HCL Connections enables users to share news, links, and status updates across their network at any time. The app also supports viewing and printing of documents, presentations, and spreadsheets over AirPrint.
To access the company's Connections server, users will need a userid, password, and the URL address of the server. The app will prompt users to enter this information.
